Tom has worked for almost 15 years in architecture, starting out as a draftsman for SAI, which followed two years of serving his country in the United States Army, then as a Commercial Project Manager for RAHA, and now as the President of his own firm, Lamar Design Incorporated, for the past seven years.  His skills lie not only in design (residential and commercial), but in project management (in both the design and construction phases) and photography (both architectural and event-based).  His function and form approach to design ensure a finished project that not only works well but is also an aesthetically enjoyable environment to live or work in.  The awards and honors he has received in these endeavors are a testament to his quality of work. While attending Florida A&M University, Tom served as the President of the FAMU chapter of the American Institute of Architecture Students for three years.  He also served as President of the FAMU chapter of Tau Sigma Delta, Architectural Honor Society.  As President of Lamar Design Incorporated, Tom is involved in all aspects of the business, both residential and commercial.

“The architect, like other workers in our endeavor, is facing the inevitability of a change of profession: he will no longer be a builder of forms alone, but a builder of complete ambiances.” Tom McDonough
