A hard working family needed space to play at the end of the day. The existing modest home had adequate bedrooms but lacked a large enough area for the family of five to spend together on hobbies, cooking, playing, doing homework, etc. Adding on a rear wing and detached garage to the existing house solved this dilemma. The wing created a guest room/office and large family/great room which opened to the remodeled kitchen. The three-car garage complete with authentic carriage garage doors is visually attached to the main house by a stucco wall and gate. The resulting courtyard between the two spaces was a perfect location to add a swimming pool and summer kitchen complete with a wood burning fireplace.
